Cinnamon Buns are a bake I have always loved but rarely tried to do myself. I always get daunted by making dough but I decided I needed to give it a crack. I am currently struggling to find things to bake during lock down, not only because of the flour shortage, but because unfortunately my boyfriend isn’t a massive fan of cake (I promise its not my baking!) I could easily eat a cake to myself in a week but its not a habit I want to get into so I am constantly trying to find recipes my boyfriend will eat!
Chocolate Eclairs is one of the things he does like so I thought I’d take on the challenge and make some! Choux pastry can be difficult but once you nail it the first time,its not as bad as it sounds. I’ll provide an easy recipe for Eclairs as well as top tips for full proof Choux Pastry!
Another week, another cookie recipe. This week is to help those who can’t find any eggs on the shelves at the minute. These chocolate chip cookies are delicious with a cup of tea and are so quick to make and bake. You can switch up the chocolate chips for something different like M&Ms or maybe you still have some Mini Eggs to get through from Easter! The egg is replaced with milk and oil which sounds gross but you really can’t tell!
I promise the next recipe will not be cookie related, but you have to admit, you cant beat a good cookie!
The clocks have turned back and Halloween is in a couple days! I guess it’s safe to say we are on our way into the winter season. Halloween isn’t something we really get into but I still like to carve a pumpkin and put on a film. This year I thought I’d do a bake as well. Something easy and simple that anyone else can do!
With Autumn in full spring I really wanted to do another bake with Apples this year. I did do one a couple of years ago when I first started this blog for an Apple Crumble Cake. If you fancy trying that here’s the link! Anyway, I found this recipe for a really simple cake which just requires a quick mix of ingredients and a 30 min bake. The cake is a vanilla sponge with apple pieces finished with a sugary cinnamon syrup for the top.
This must be my first post in about a month! Unfortunately, I have been traveling pretty much every week for work for the past couple of months, which means any free time I do have I need to sort my life out, catch up with Chris or sleep. But finally, this weekend I felt I had time to do what I love best- bake!
I do have a confession to make…this did not turn out how I wanted it to. But, that was down to my own skill set rather than the recipe. I really need to work on icing layered cakes. I have never been able to get it right but practice makes perfect! I’ve decided to do more research on how to nail it.Hopefully, with some help from Pinterest and youtube, I’ll be on my way!
